Martín Zalakain is a young Basque boy from a fictitious village called Urbia. He is a mischievous boy who is brought up by the old innkeeper, Migel Tellagorri, following the death of his mother. He hates Karlos Ohando, the village Chief, who had his eye on Martin’s sister. To ensure that he does not seduce her, Martin marries her off to his friend, Bautista Urbide.
This latest show by the Argia Company, based on Pio Baroja´s novel "Zalacaín el aventurero" and directed by Juan Antonio Urbeltz hand in hand with Ander Lipus and Harkaitz Cano, combines literature and dramaturgy with pre-classic dance, seeking a new understanding of our popular culture.
