On the suggestion of pianist Arkaitz Mendoza, writer Harkaitz Cano listened to Chopin’s Nocturnes and expresses the Rorschach inkblots of the music in words. Since pure instinct, like pure reason, is meaningless alone, Cano combines the two to delve into the flexibility, depths and calm of the night. This is an invitation to combine instinct and reason, melody and words, for, as Proust said, there are millions of keys of tenderness, of passion, of courage, of serenity, yet to be discovered. (Arkaitz Mendoza´s cd also included). All poems translated by: Kristin Addis.
